On November 29, 2017, the Republican Scientific and Pedagogical Library of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the 2nd republican round of the “Best College Library” competition. The competition was held in order to develop the creative initiatives of libraries of colleges on the formation of spiritual and moral values of the National Patriotic Idea “Mogilik El” patriotic education, strengthening of Kazakhstan’s unity identity and also, in order to enhance the prestige of the library profession and focus on forming a positive image of the librarian, stimulating innovation, effective forms and methods of work, and using new information technologies in libraries. The winners of the 1st regional round of the contest who took the first place took part in the Contest.More than 16 colleges of the regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the competition.Contestants were required to provide an electronic presentation or video illustrating the work of the library. The competition envisaged both demonstration of the prepared competitive materials, and competitive demonstration by participants of a degree of possession of professional skills, competence, erudition (answers to theoretical questions, participation in discussion).Kostanay region was represented by Olga V. Grebenshchikova, head of the library of the Kostanay Industrial and Pedagogical College.According to the results of the competition, the first place was taken by the head of the library of Aktyubinsk Polytechnic College Irina Avdeeva. The second place was taken by the manager of the library of the Karaganda Polytechnic College Shomenbaeva Saltanat Sakenovna. Kostanay region, head of Grebenshchikova Olga Victorovna, took the honorable third place. She was awarded with the Certificate of Honor of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sagadiev EK. and the Diploma of the Republican Scientific Pedagogical Library. Grand Prix was awarded to the head of the Almaty State College of Transport and Communications Bilthebaeva Ultuar Baubekovna. All the winners received valuable gifts and diplomas.All participants of the 2nd Republican tour were awarded with the Diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
